How It All Began |

The year 1974 and the place Wollongong, Australia when the late Husein Ismail, as the Founder made
a simple yet powerful observation that's as true today as it then.
"PEOPLE WANT A QUICK,
INSTANT, READY MADE DINNER,
TASTY, NUTRITIOUS AND YET AT AN AFFORDABLE PRICE".

Acting on this principle, Husein secured a place and converted it into the first Kebab Shops thus
introducing his native nutritious and delicious food to Australia.
Kebab being a tasty, nutritious / healthy and popular meal backhome in Turkey become an instant
success gaining recoqnition and acceptance by Australians.
Soon with the help of his younger brother Ahmet the venture expanded with the establishment of
"ABRA KEBAB" Stores in Queensland. And to think it all began 25 years ago with such a simple philosophy.

WHAT IS KEBAB?
A Kebab is a traditional Turkish Dish comprising of fine tender slices of Lamb,
Beef and Chicken marinated in our secret herbs & spices. Wrapped in Flat Bread

and served with fresh vegetables and your choice of our special sauces forming a roll
which is then put in a toaster for crispiness.

The meat roll is grilled on a rotisserie allowing for any excess fat to drip to the bottom of the
pan. We then delicately slice each individual layer enabling us to serve you with unique "Magic Roll"
with top quality tender slice of Lamb, Beef or Chicken pieces.

Here the Kebab meat is wrapped with salad in the traditional circle of
flat bread, a delicious combination.

It was realised that despite the great popularity of Kebab being served in the traditional
style, Kebab meat has the versatility to be offered in a "Burger" form. Thus "Abra Kebab" Burger range was introduced to cater towards
each customer's individual taste.
The atmosphere and appearance of our "Abra Kebab" food outlets (restaurants) is of a friendly
clean and very attractive nature which caters to all those who appreciate quality food with good service.
